Two men sit facing the street, joined by blood, separated by choice, both trying to ignore the latter, and bewildered by the former.
"What happened," he asks himself as his teenage son gets phone call after phone call from people he doesn't know and his son won't tell him about. He asks out of fear for his son, and love, for he has heard about what young people get into these days and can hardly forget what he got himself into so many years ago.
He is afraid his son doesn't love him and never will.
He gets up to leave, earlier than he needs to, and calls him "bud" as he awkwardly hugs him from the side. His mother will be along shortly, and he's not interested in seeing her.

The son retrieves his laptop - he always gets what he wants - and reminds himself that no matter what he or the other man feels, he is the one who decides who he is, no one else, and he is the island he desperately needs to be, amidst a sea of other islands; strong, independent, scared. He isn't sure what it means to be grown up, to really love, because it seems like the whole world doesn't have a clue either. The woman on the screen reaches out with everything that she is, wishing he was strong, willing to give him everything so he'll love her.

And God sees the man who hasn't grown up and the son who wishes he had and the woman who is beautiful and both so lonely and the mother who spends weekdays and nights with the boy so powerless to help him become something she isn't even sure exists. And the church across the street is empty, but none of them know or care, just like none of them know or care that God sees, and burns.

Acer orbi cam not working

Double click the icon in the toolbar. Click the device settings tab and then hit setting. select buttons in the list on the left side. Hit the plus sign(maximize) and select scroll up button action....scroll down button action...Etc. For each action select what you want it to do and just hit apply and move to the next. Once you have selected the action for scroll up, down , left, and right hit apply again just to be sure and try it. It should work. I just did it on my 5630 but Im assuming it works the same.
all i did was to fix mine was click on the touch pad button on the task bar and clicked scrolling then changed the speed hit apply then put it back to my perfered settings and hit apply again.it fixed my touch pad scroll and my connected mouse scrollhope that helps =]
I deleted the touch pad and rebooted, it was reinstalled as new hardware and then started to work again.Start-Control Panel-System-Hardware-Device Manager-Mic e and other pointing devices- click + -right click and delete touchpad- Reboot- Hardware reloads- Reboot.

How can I reinstall my acer orbi cam my daughter deleted it and now I cant get it back, can you please help and I have Windows Vista or can you suggest some better that will work with windows vista cause it was not working

hey I have a acer aspire 5100 and my camera stopped working also. So I contacted acer about the problem. They gave me some instructions to fix it and it worked!!!
First we will create the new folder where the pictures will be moved to:

1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on Computer
3. Double-click on the C drive
4. Double-click on Users
5. Double-click on your user name
6. Double-click on Desktop.
7. Once you are in the Desktop, right-click on a blank white area (not on an icon) then select Create > New Folder.
8. Call the folder “Picture Backup” or any other significant name. (Do not close the windows since we will need it later) in step 11
Now we will move the pictures from the old folder to the new one:
9. Click on the START button then click on Pictures
10. Click on one picture and then go to Edit > Select All. This will highlight all the files in this folder.
11. Right-click on one of the selected files then select Cut
12. Go back to the folder we created in step 7 and
13. Right-click and paste the contents we Cut from the Pictures folder.

Now, restart your computer and try the OrbiCam application again. This should allow your OrbiCam application to work again.
How to fix and install the built in microphone of Acer Laptop
I accidentally deleted my microphone in the sound devices. how do i install my built in microphone its not working now.
Right click the sound icon in the lower right of the screen, near the clock and select 'open volume control'. Next click 'options' and select 'properties'. Click 'recording' and make sure that 'mic' is checked. Make sur ethat it is not muted either.

Wedding Bands

So this week, we found my wedding band.

With my engagement ring being so unique, as well as my jewelry style, it's been hard to decide what I like, and what would look nice with my ring. The original drawing of what I wanted the ring to be designed around, or possibly find something ready-made like it, it was very much so antique in styling. I wanted something classy, unique, simple, yet elegant all at the same time. Yes indeed, it was a bit of a tall order. But what Cameron found and delivered was perfectly me. Not all that I had wanted was in the ring, but in discussing it with the jewelers, he decided to put some of the design elements that I wanted into the wedding band instead, to reduce the potential chaos and clutter that those elements might end up bringing, which was contrary to what I wanted. And to be honest with you, I had forgotten about the wedding band.

So our search for my wedding band started about a month ago, when we went down to Provo to redeem my prize package I had won at the La Caille Bridal Fair in January from Goldsmith Jewelry Co. In the package I had won, it included: a free strand of fresh water pearls, 20% off my engagement ring, 50% of the diamond and up to 50% off the men's wedding band. Not too shabby. Except that I already had an engagement ring..... So we asked if we could apply the 20% off to a wedding band instead. "Sure!" Excellent. :)

So we took a quick peek at what they had out on display for women's bands and didn't really find anything we liked. So we drew what we were kind of looking for for our guy to search their books and see if they possibly could order something like that in for us. We also asked about the possibility of custom making the band. Since we were on a time crunch (we came down on a monday morning and I had to be at work by noon. we had arrived at 10 at the store) we just told him to email us the details and what he found. After taking a quick peek at the men's bands, Cameron found one he liked, and in tungsten, would be about $300, but with the half off, it would be $150 for me. :) A good price. So we had the guy write they style number down for us to come back later to order it.

After Goldsmith, we went to Robison Bros. Jewelers to open up some fortune prize cookies mentioned in an earlier post. After receiving my prize, we took a look at the men's wedding bands there, cause of the bridal show price would be $100 or $150. Cameron actually found one that he liked, and it was $100! So we decided that we were going to order that. I went ahead and put a deposit on it and we ran  back to my car to zoom our way back to Salt Lake. I was going to be a tad late for work....

So, back to my band. After calling up Goldsmith a little while later, I found out that to custom make my band, it would be close to $1,000 with all the fees and such. So I nixed that idea. So come last sunday, at my first Temple Prep class, after the lesson, a couple of the girls were talking to each other and figure out that they had seen each other at the store they both got their rings at. The store they saw each other in? Antoinette's Antique Jewelry. My ears perked up instantly. Apparently so did Cameron's. We asked where it was located and found out that they also have a website where they list all their inventory on. Very exciting!

So we decide to go check it out. Maybe we could find something I liked, and definitely something that would be what I was looking for as a compliment to my ring. We took a look at the website later on that sunday afternoon and saw a few bands that we liked that we wanted to check out when we got the chance to go in.

Tuesdays are my days off, typically, and I went down to Cameron's branch and paid him a surprise visit. I had gotten the store's exact address and hours at work on monday. Turns out they're only open from noon to 5:30 pm. Well, Cameron gets off work at 5, and it was 4:30 when I went to visit him, so we decided to check them out after he got off. I went ahead (and it was a good thing I did, too) and found out that they were closed that day due to all of them having the flu. So I let Cameron know, and proceeded to roam the little shops that neighbored Antoinette's. I had put in an hour's worth of quarters in the parking meter and wanted to use at least half of it and not waste it.

On thursday, I ended up leaving work early because I was sick. I had actually been sick since monday night, but it had gotten worse. So, with me being home so early, we decided to snag the opportunity and go to Antoinette's again, hoping they were all feeling better from the flu. I got there early (and good thing too, again, cause they were about to close the shop, at 5:15) decided to start taking a look at the bands while we waited for Cameron. I looked at the ones that we saw online, and they were ok with my ring, but then the lady pulled out a band from the vault that was similar to one I had seen online, but much better looking. I tried it on, found it was a tad small (and by a tad, I mean I couldn't get it past my knuckle), but I put it with my ring anyway, and I loved it! Cameron had come in by this point and he liked it too. We figured out the ring was a 4.5 and I needed a 5.5. She told us that they could size it, no problem. So we went ahead and put it into lay-away, seeing as we don't need it until june, and they don't charge us for it.

This is a ring that's similar to the one we found. Just to give you all a taste. :)

It's 18k white gold, from a designer called Belais and it's from around the 1910's. :)

Reception location. what what!!

So this past week, Cameron and I finally got our reception location! Big HURRAH!!

After our original choice ended up falling through (due to someone else snagging our day. The nerve of some people!! ;) ) we fell back on Plan B, which originally had been Plan A. Confused? Yes, you should be. Let me explain. :) Our Plan A had been to do our reception at a park, cause it's cheap! $45 to reserve a bowery for 5 hours. How awesome is that?! But then a customer of mine recommended her chapel's grounds. I took a look and found that they were perfect! And free! Much better than $45! So that became our Plan A. But then another bride reserved it before we did. So park reception became our fallback plan in case we couldn't find another church building with grounds that would work for what we wanted for the reception. And it ended up being that we just decided that we should do it at a park. We kind of got lazy in the search for the perfect church. :) But! We had already taken a look at the park that we decided on a couple months before, and it really just is great for what we want.

So! Early Monday morning, March 1st, (and by early, I mean getting up at 5:20 AM, on the road by 5:30) Cameron and I head out to the parks division building for the city to make the reservation for our park. Reservations were being taken in person starting 6 AM the first Monday of March. That was the earliest you could go and do a reservation. So, rather than risk having someone grab our park and date, we got there at 5:45 AM to ensure that we got our park! It turns out that we weren't the first ones there. There was at least 20-25 people in line before us, some in folding chairs, leading me to believe they had probably been there since 5 AM.

The doors opened up at 6 AM and we all filed into the building and to the back to the reservation desks. As we waited, we chatted with the people around us. The more we listened, the more we realized that our park was quite popular. Which started to worry us. Granted, most of the people in line with us were making reservations for company parties, and there are a LOT of city parks to choose from.... and dates.... the whole summer in fact.... but that didn't stop us from starting to get worried. As we got closer to the reservation desks, we came up to the table that had the reservation forms that needed to be filled out. And our worry doubled when we saw that our park had it's own reservation form. Oh dear. So in case our park had been reserved on our date, we filled out the other form too.

When we finally made it up to the reservation desk, I noticed that they had calendars up for our park that had the days and what bowery had been reserved X out. I quickly found June, then June 19th and saw that it was still open!! Victory!! We jumped up and down "hurrah"-ing in happiness when we saw that. The ladies that we had befriended clapped in happiness for us. We were very excited. So we paid our $75 for it (because it's so popular, it's $30 more than the other parks, but! It's ours for the entire day, not just 5 hours!), got our information packet and receipts and headed back to Cameron's house, him to make breakfast and me back to my place to take a nap before going to work.

We're quite happy to have been able to get the one we wanted.

So for those of you who live here in Utah, our park is the George Washington Park, right next to the Mountain Dell Golf Course just off of I-80 headed towards Park City. We're on the upper terrace. :)

Fieldhouse Adventures ...

We've been going to the gym, as Leila alluded in an earlier post.  We go to the fieldhouse on campus at the U  - it's not bad at all.  The facilities are complete, and there's enough equipment to go around.  Parking is free whether we go before 8am or after 6pm - which is always when we have the time to go.  They gave us a punch card that will earn us both a free t-shirt and a free hoodie as we fill out either side.  Not bad!  Oh, and it's free for me to go, and Leila was just $30 for the entire semester ... yeah, pretty sweet deal.

Every time we show up to the front desk, I've got the rocky theme playing on my phone.  Just last night the girl at the desk asked about it.  "Is that like your theme song when you come in here?"  'Why, yes.'  "Okay, I thought it was just your ring tone earlier, but now it's going off again."  'The girl in the morning says it makes her day ...'

All we need here are our hoodies and a set of stairs ...

I'm only in it for the aerobics, and I'm still recovering from loss of blood during the whole tonsil fiasco - OOH! I'LL POST ABOUT THAT LATER! - so it's been interesting watching how my heart rate improves as my red cells all come back.  We went down into the circuit room last week for the first time, though ... I felt the burn the next day at work.  I love that.

We like watching the Cardio Theatre they have for us at the fieldhouse.  There are four large flat screens you can tune into while you're either running, spinning, stair climbing, rowing, or ... ellipticizing ... ?  Anyway, we've seen things from a countdown of the top places to chow down on the food network, to Myth Busters, Animal Planet, and our first introduction to the Colbert Report.  It's fun when Stephen Colbert is on ... we end up looking more like we're having seizures on the machines, doubled over laughing.  I guess nobody else must think he's that funny?

*Quick P.S. from Leila* It was Cameron's first exposure to the awesomeness that is the Colbert Report. I already knew of his hilarity. :)
