Troubleshooting Supertintin Skype Recorder Problems




Below are some suggestions that you can try when you are having problems in using the Supertintin recorder.  These procedures are based on actual testings and feedback from customers who are using our product.

1.  Restart Supertintin and Skype.  More often than not, a simple restart of those two programs fix isolated recording related issues.  If closing and reopening Skype and Supertintin don't resolve the problem, try to reboot your computer  (if possible, turn off your computer for at least 2-3 minutes before restarting).

2.  Install the latest version of the Supertintin recorder.  Known issues, bugs, and problems are often fixed or resolved when Supertintin release a new version of the recorder.  Updating your Supertintin recorder is free of charge and any requirements.  You can directly proceed to the "Download" section of the Supertintin website.  For your convenience, pasted below is the direct download link of the latest version of Supertintin;

Just remember to copy and save your registered email address and licence code first before installing a newer version of the recorder, as you may be asked to re-enter them after installation.  To view your licence details, just click the "Help" menu, then select "Register".



If you are already using the latest version, you can just try to uninstall then reinstall.  Just consider the instructions mentioned above.

3.  Try calling and recording a call with another contact.  This is to check if the problem you are experiencing is specific to one or certain contacts only.  You can also call the Supertintin video testing service to perform test recordings.  Just make sure that Skype is already running, then click the "Call Me" button below to make a call to the video testing service;

4.  Uninstall Skype, then re-install the latest version.  By the time this article is being written, the most updated version of Skype is version 5.6.0.110 (http://www.skype.com/go/getskype-full-56).

Yet, if you have time, it would be better if you can perform a "complete uninstall" of Skype, before installing the latest version.  The complete uninstall differs from the common uninstall as it will allow you to re-install a "fresh" copy of Skype.  Here is the link where you can see the procedures on how to back-up your Skype files and to completely uninstall it (https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10634/How-can-I-completely-uninstall-and-then-reinstall-Skype).

5.  Uninstall or delete other  unnecessary similar recorders.  Such software may interfere with the processes of Skype and/or Supertintin.  Some users often forget to uninstall the recorders that they used to use, and tried the their demo versions.
