Zoë

Leila and I found our new puppy on Sunday afternoon - an Australian Shepherd.  Her name will be Zoë.  She was born on Nov 16, 2011 (only a few days after our house began construction) and will be joining us at home in about three to four weeks after we've had a chance to move in and unpack a bit.  Honestly, though, I plan on being completely unpacked and ready for her (I can't stand things that need doing ... I just do them - so, I don't plan that we'll be living out of boxes for more than a day or two).

We're both very excited.  I find myself saying her name all of a sudden during the day in my head at work ... "Zoë" ... on the commute home ... "Zoë" ... and when Leila and I are at home ... "Zoë!"  Our breeder was clever enough to ask that we let her know the name, so she can start calling her by it in the meantime.

Here's a recent photo.  I really love the tri-color fur she has - very happy we got her!  Visitors are so very welcome to stop by and play.  We already know our friend Jack is excited to come and meet her, and we're happy we'll have Zoë around when our nieces have a sleepover at our place as soon as we're all set up.

This is Zoë at about a month old - we're a little sad we didn't get to see her like this, but she'll be just about three months when she joins our family - still plenty of puppy left in her! :)
