Gear Head Advice: How will you use the gear?

(See the beginning of this series: here)
Question 3: How will you use the gear?

Gear is designed for specific uses. So many times I see skiers out on groomer runs with big fat powder skis.  You wouldn't use a spoon to dig a trench would you?

Knowing what terrain, conditions, activity level (running vs. walking), type of environment (Utah is dry vs. Vermont is humid), and your ability level are important things to consider.

As for ability level, think about where you are and how you want to grow. You can grow into gear.

(Stay tuned for questions 4 and 5!)
