Question 4: Have you done the research?

Do your research.

There are several places to find information. Gear company websites and www.backcountry.com are good places to start. 

Read a few product descriptions and all the reviews (not just the good ones), from different retailers. Think about what resonates with you.

Also, while reading the reviews see how the reviewer’s perspectives match: 

1. How you will use the gear (Question 3), 
2. Where you will use the gear and 
3. The type of person you are (Question 2).
