Suggested Orientations for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

When recording a Skype video call with someone who is using an  iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad, the other party (or the one who is using an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad), may need to follow a certain orientation, so that their video image in your recording will appear properly.

If the front camera is being used, the device must be in "landscape" orientation or position, or the "Home" button must be on the left side and the volume buttons on the top.  Check the image below as reference;

On the other hand, if the back camera is the one the other party is using, the "Home" button needs to be on the left side, and the volume button on the bottom (or the camera itself must be on the upper right hand).  Please see sample below;

Otherwise, their video image may appear inverted or sideways if other possible orientations is selected.  Yet,   the actual results may still vary depending on the device being used, the version or generation of the device itself, the firmware/software installed, and the Skype version being used.  Whenever possible or applicable, it is highly advisable to run a 3-5 minutes test recording first before recording the actual conversation, so you can can check if the all settings are correct, and the video/audio are properly detected and recorded.

Furthermore, Supertintin's development team is trying to find ways to automatically detect and correct video image orientations.  Possible fixes will most likely be applied in the future updates of the Supertintin Skype video call recorder.  Any feedback, suggestions and thoughts from our valued customers will be greatly appreciated and will surely be useful in the future developments of the Supertintin recorder.
