Day 81 to 85: Amsterdam

Our first two days in Amsterdam were spent at a hotel just outside the city. We asked and thought we had bought the right ticket for the train, but when asked on the train, we found out we had the wrong one. Luckily through some sweet talking, we didn't have to pay 50€ in fines. We had been wondering why the city was so busy this weekend and we soon found out that the largest electronic music festival and the Amsterdam Marathon were both being held on this weekend.

In Amsterdam, we discovered one of the drawbacks of our Eurolines pass, this was that not all busses run by Euro lines were available to us. Because of this, we ended up having to spend two more nights in Amsterdam that we found unnecessary. We did get to do the Heineken Experience tour which was a lot of fun. We also walked most of the city during our stay and saw all that Amsterdam has to offer (even the stuff we didn't want to see).
